Sergeant Simon Mills

Sergeant Simon Mills

I joined Cheshire Police in 1998 and have thoroughly enjoyed my time working within the Police. The first couple of years of my career were served in Warrington and I transferred to what is now known as the Eastern Division in 2000. I worked as a uniformed response officer in the Wilmslow area for approximately four years and since then have worked in custody and also as a Detective within CID.

I have been attached to the Wilmslow Policing Team since January 2008 and began the role of Sergeant within this unit in July 2008. My priorities for this Neighbourhood Policing Team are to detect and reduce local crimes, thus ensuring that members of the local communities feel safe within the areas they live in. It is important that members of the public feel that they can always call upon the police and report incidents to us. I enjoy the challenge of ensuring we meet the needs and priorities of the local community and hopefully myself and the local officers will help to make a difference for people who deal with us.

I have been a PCSO since 2006 and enjoy meeting those in the Wilmslow community. I am particularly impressed with the community spirit and people's willingness to get involved in the many events and organisations that operate. The enthusiasm shown in making Wilmslow a better place to live greatly assists the Police in their work. I am a big believer in intervention work as an effective tool when aiming to reduce crime and have been fortunate to be involved with a number of partner agencies and local people in doing this.

I joined Cheshire Constabulary as a PCSO in 2006 and since this time have worked on the Dean Row ward, predominantly working on the Colshaw Farm Estate. I thoroughly enjoy my job and have built up good relationships with the local residents and Partnership agencies. I believe organising events like local football matches can help make a real difference in building relationships between the communities. I frequently walk around the local estates and enjoy socialising with the residents and would welcome anybody to approach me with any neighbouring issues. In my spare time I enjoy films and have a keen interest in music.

I have been a Police Community Support Officer for Cheshire Constabulary since 2006 and I thoroughly enjoy my role. I used to cover the Town Centre area of Wilmslow but I am now responsible for the Colshaw Farm, Dean Row and Handforth areas. I enjoy working in this community and trying to make a difference for the local residents by focusing on their local priorities.
